Carrickfergus Castle
Carrickfergus Castle is located in the county of Antrim, on the shore of Belfast Lough. Palace built of local stone - balzata. Wall tower and courtyard decorated with red sandstone. Construction of the castle was carried out in 1177. Until 1928 the castle played an important strategic role. Later, around the castle grew port city.
Carrickfergus is by far one of the best preserved medieval structures in Ireland. Visit the castle, and you can see the amazing interiors of the castle, a ballroom, and a unique collection of vintage items.
