Nelson's Column
Nelson's Column is located in the heart of the famous Trafalgar Square. It was designed in 1838 and built in the period from 1840 to 1843 years. Bronze panels depicting various wins Grand Admiral decorate the pedestal of the monument. The column itself is made of granite and has a height of forty six meters. The column frame graceful bronze leaves that were cast from old British guns. Completion of the entire structure is a statue of Nelson himself, height of five and a half meters. Later in 1867 at the base of the columns were installed four lions.
