The Shard, a great London skyscraper, was created in the form of an irregular pyramid fully tiled with glass panels. One of the tallest buildings in Europe reaches 310 metres high. It has 72 floors, which the high-speed elevator overcomes for half a minute. The building houses apartments, offices, restaurants and a hotel. The viewing platform offers its visitors incredible views of the whole of London. Before the skyscraper was built, the city from that height could be seen only from a helicopter.
The modern skyscraper that resembles the construction from the films about future, is one of the main tourist destinations of the United Kingdom.
The viewing platform of the skyscraper is available for visiting from April to October daily from 10am till 10pm; from November to March: Sunday–Wednesday from 10am till 7pm, Thursday–Saturday until 10pm. Entrance cost is about 25 pounds for an adult. You are advised to book tickets in advance at the official website. Getting there: the entrance from Joiner Street. You can use underground to London Bridge Underground Station or London Bridge Main Line: buses 43, 48, 141, 149 and 521.
