Dartmoor National Park
Dartmoor National Park is located in south-west England in the county of Devonshire. It covers an area of more than six hundred and fifty square kilometers. Its territory is a swampy wasteland, among them - the flat granite hills up to 600 meters. Surface covered with a layer of peat bogs. Such unique ability of soils to accumulate water from the 16th century is the local water supply of cities and villages. The park grow various kinds of ferns, moss and horsetail. Here come the nerds who are interested in marsh grass and reeds, peat mosses. In the Middle Ages in the park were royal hunting grounds.
Another interesting fact that has become the scene of Dartmoor adventures of Sherlock Holmes in the novel "The Hound of the Baskervilles."
