Henri Matisse. Exhibition of paintings at the Tate Modern

London gallery of modern and contemporary art Tate Modern will present the largest exhibition in its history - 120 paintings of outstanding artist and leader of the French Fauvist Henri Matisse (1869-1954).
Basically it will be extraordinary late period, when the creator, due to illness, could no longer paint in oils, but the soul of the artist and the hand of the master wanted to show masterpieces and Matisse began creating vivid appliques, cutting shapes from colored paper.
Such works as "Large composition with masks", the length of which is as much as 10 meters, "Memories of Oceania", a famous painting "Snail" and 117 other paintings were first seen in one place.
The exhibition runs from April 17 to September 7, 2014.
